1/2 day retreats are 9am - 12:30pm and begin with feeding the horses their breakfast. We learn about herd dynamics and safety around horses. Next we learn about basic horse anatomy, their individual personalities, and grooming tools. Everyone is taught how to groom and saddle their horses.

After a short riding lesson, we play riding games in the pasture to practice our new skills. Next, we take the horses on 1 hour trail ride with beautiful views of the Yuba River. The horses enjoy a good hosing off and a roll after the ride. Carrots and apples are provided for the horses.

1/2 day horse retreats are $200 per person with a minimum of 2 people (4 people max). Parents are welcome to come partipate in grooming activites for free but we have found the horses walk too fast for parents to hike along on the trail ride portion. Parents can ride on the trail for $100 per person if desired.

Stay overnight at the ranch! Full weekend retreats with lodging and catering are from Friday evening to Sunday evening. Arrive at ranch house anytime after 3pm Friday, meet your host, get settled in, greet the horses, and enjoy organic dinner and dessert. 

All activities for Saturday are as above in the 1/2 day retreat but with organic breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert included. Sunday includes feeding horses, saddling up, and riding through obstacle course to show off new riding skills. We take the horses on 1.5 hour trail ride through an old miner's historical trail with bridges to ride the horses over and views of Donner Mountain. Sunday also includes organic breakfast and lunch. Check-out is 4pm Sunday.
